Chicago Tea Party:The Battle Lines Have Been Drawn

“A lady asked Dr. Franklin; well Doctor what have we got, a republic or a monarchy? A republic replied the Doctor… if you can keep it.”

Our system of government, a Republic, is the greatest experiment and advance in the history of political man. Our old boys looked back, and knew well, the entire history of political mankind and our struggle for a “just” society. One should spend much time reviewing the Federalist Papers. I think many have forgotten what we have and what it took to get here.

ctpaWhere I differ most with my friends on the left is in which direction our solution, our destination lies. I believe that the ruling ideals of our Republic are not “things of the past,’” but rather eternally provide our Telos that is yet to be achieved. They are before us, not behind us.

The collectivist says in one form or another, to one degree or another, be they Republican or Democrat, that our ideals themselves are flawed and need to be replaced. (They have already changed the definitions of the words in schools.) What the collectivist offers as a replacement, is some reshuffled retro-romantic, dead, less advanced, less free, and historically less just system. Collectivism by its nature is incredibly “self” destructive!

This is a recent (yet often repeated)  statement from a collectivist I debated that shows what I am talking about. He wants to go back to 400 BC… this is what he was taught at our government university…

“If you want to push back against Big Gov’t, join me in pushing for a decentralized direct democracy. We’d vote for issues, not politicians. Thus, all people would have direct decision making power on all issues that affect their lives. No more pleading for politicians to vote how we want; instead, we vote directly.”

I have my issues with the right as well. But given the choice between the two, the left is far more dangerous to things like Liberty, Justice, Peace, Personal Property, and the movement toward Happiness; despite their claims of being champions of these ideals. Their intentions may be good, but the outcome is not…

What is before us now is remarkable: to intentionally bring about the demise of our way of life, built on the principle of the Individual, and to change our Republic into a collective. In collectivism, it is considered “Just” to sacrifice the individual for the collective. It is Just to govern the markets, it is Just to redistribute wealth, and it is Just to decide for the people what is best. Animal Farm all the way.

“We have to abandon the conceit that isolated personal actions are going to solve this crisis. Our policies have to shift.” Al Gore… Translation: We will be forced by government… “isolated personal actions”= Individual Freedom…it has to go….

Squealer consoles the animals, saying, “Do not imagine, comrades, that leadership is a pleasure. On the contrary, it is a deep and heavy responsibility. No one believes more firmly than Comrade Napoleon that all animals are equal. He would be only too happy to let you make your decisions for yourselves. But sometimes you might make the wrong decisions, comrades, and then where should we be?”
Animal Farm

Bush was a Neo-Conservative, a “Compassionate Conservative.” This is a liberal. People get confused by political parties. That’s the problem, we do not have many true “Republican” representatives. Just two flavors of liberalism….Regular and diet….

The Democratic collectivist says that the state should be your daddy…. the Noe-Conservative says the private sector should be your daddy. It is not the injection of some new “third party,” but a return to an actual two party system that we seek. The reason everyone on all sides feel as if their voice is not being heard is because we have been sliding into collectivism for a long while. The collectivist calls for more collectivism as the solution. I say give me back My Autonomy and our Nations Sovereignty. Rather than coming to a “consensus,” I think it’s time to draw some lines…
