greatest people in history? says who? they’re only as great as you make them… this douche holds up MLK as the greatest piece of shit to have ever walked on earth… I call bullshit on that and now you’re pissed

You act as if Christian practitioners nowadays even follow this, are they even commanded to follow this? Honestly, sure the bible does say this but no one is expected to even follow this, that was then.

Negro savior? WTF? MLK had a war against poverty, no matter the race, not 1 wall street banker is in jail for fraud, Obama has killed a 16-year old AMERICAN CITIZEN in Yemen with a drone strike and is now considered a war criminal like Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld. Get your head out of your behind, explain to me what the NDAA is that Obama said he’d veto but signed it into law instead… I’ll wait.. your ignorance is showing.

  5. Stella Teixeira on January 28, 2013 at 4:03 am

Uh, actually he said Obama is NOT the savior.

  6. NoremacTheGreat on January 28, 2013 at 4:22 am

That’s what I was referring to.

I don’t think there was a lesser of two evils in the last election. Americans are just use to voting for absolute shit in every election and that’s what we get, President in and President out, consistently.

    Because it is still relevant.

  9. curious20yearold on January 28, 2013 at 4:55 am

I’ve favorited this and seen it three times now. This is Cornell West on steroids

I just found out (the media sure kept it quiet) MLKs Family won a civil suit against the government for responsibility in his death in 1999. So much for “conspiracy theories”. Seems many turn out to be facts.

  11. wolfhybred on January 28, 2013 at 5:12 am

MLKs mission and cause was by no means just a black cause.or agenda. You must not know much about MLK.

  12. wolfhybred on January 28, 2013 at 5:15 am

MLK must have been rolling in his grave. He would be appalled by the Obama administration. They share nothing in ideology .

  13. rynwaves on January 28, 2013 at 5:16 am

nooo… its like comparing a producer to jimmy hendrix….

  14. wolfhybred on January 28, 2013 at 5:24 am

So should we put people in prison for eating too much or the wrong foods too? (we’re headed that way) Your not too bright. With your logic everyone should be in jail..They might hurt themselves. Don’t drive. You might hurt yourself. Don’t go swimming you might drown. Don’t fall in love you might get your heart broken. Don’t go outside you might get skin cancer. Don’t stay inside you might get a vit. D defficeincy.

  15. wolfhybred on January 28, 2013 at 5:26 am

Because MLK stood for everything Obama doesn’t.

  16. mrsglosglow1 on January 28, 2013 at 5:26 am

I think that MLK would be proud to have the 1st African American president be sworn in on his Bible. This is what he MLK fought for, this is why he put his life in danger so that all races could have an equal opportunity and when it is being accomplished that first step is to be recognized. Our President is not equal to MLK but he is a product of his legacy.

I don’t often believe news that’s manufactured for public use. If media keeps it quiet; that’s what they’re told to do!

  18. Stella Teixeira on January 28, 2013 at 6:44 am

?? I still don’t get it. Who were you telling to get their head out of their behind? It’s actually none of my business, but I’m a Virgo, obsessed with logic sometimes, heheh. It just didn’t make sense since “eyeluv2dance” seems to agree with your view.

  19. NoremacTheGreat on January 28, 2013 at 7:01 am

No, she was actually disagreeing with Cornell West, whereas I do agree with Dr. West wholeheartedly.

  20. NoremacTheGreat on January 28, 2013 at 7:03 am

MLK fought racial oppression, he didn’t fight for a black person to be a president, he would’ve been a politician instead of an activist if that was the case. He was against war, poverty, and much more of all races, not just the 1 chapter given to him in the history books regarding race.

  21. Stella Teixeira on January 28, 2013 at 8:50 am

Oh, well maybe I misunderstood the comment. Anyway, I agree with Dr. West wholeheartedly too. Saw him today and it was awesome! Proud to say he grew up in our city, Sacramento, CA. Our best claim to fame!

  22. MuffinBruiser on January 28, 2013 at 8:55 am

What would MLK say about the birth rate of African Americans being below the replacement level sure to half of their pregnancies being terminated? What would he say about Planned Parenthood achieving far more than the KKK could ever imagine? What would he say about the leading cause of premature death of blacks being abortion? His niece Alveda has something to say about that

  23. Matthew Fockler on January 28, 2013 at 9:32 am

Because when Obama uses MLK’s bible at the inauguration it sends a powerful message that the president stands behind the principles that MLK fought and died for. So why do people compare them? Because Obama (or rather, his press staff) insists we assimilate Obama to MLK when he does these types of things. And West is angered by that because MLK fought for peace (which Obama doesn’t fully advocate) and equality of rights (also not on Obama’s agenda, ie prison industrial complex, drug laws, etc).

  24. NoremacTheGreat on January 28, 2013 at 11:33 am

Obama makes this move and then his blind faith fans can’t seem to understand why we’re debating MLK and obama… low IQs….

  25. Keepin ItPrivate on January 28, 2013 at 11:53 am

Cornell is a joke! I can not believe he is teaching at a Seminary when all I hear is black theology not Christology!
