A response to the video “Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus”. The purpose of this video is to do a response from a Catholic perspective, in a spirit of love, but also with a spirit of passion to defend our Mother the Church. The things that are said are not meant to offend, but we do have to be direct about what we believe and what we stand for. Lyrics: What if I told you that Jesus loves religion And that by his coming as man he brought his religion to fruition See this had to be addressed, the use of illogical terms and definitions You clearly have a heart for Jesus but its fueling atheistic opinions See what makes his religion great is not errors of wars and inquisitions It’s that broken men and women to participate in his mission Clearly Jesus says I have not come to abolish I came to fulfill the law and I came to fulfill the prophets (Matthew 5:17) And lines about

Horus: Written in 1280 BC, the Egyptian Book of the Dead describes him as the son of the god Osiris, born to a virgin mother, baptized in a river by Anup the Baptizer..who was later beheaded. Like Jesus, Horus was tempted while in the desert, healed the sick, the blind, cast out demons, and walked on water. He also resurrected Asar from the dead..”Asar” translates to “Lazarus”. He also had 12 disciples, was crucified, and after 3 days 2 women announced that Horus the savior had been resurrected.

This is coming from… The Catholic Church, one of the largest religious scams in human history (purgatory). I choose to accept the original version of this simply because organized religions have always been about controlling the masses. I believe organized religion is horrible. All these different branches of Christianity only divide us.

JESUS’S OWN WORDS: Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesare’a Philip’pi, he asked his disciples, “Who do men say that the Son of man is?” And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Eli’jah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who

is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Jesus spoke Aramaic and in Aramaic there is only one word for rock, which is cephas. Peter is referred to as Cephas in other parts of Scripture (in Jn 1:42 and by Paul in Gal 2:11). So with the words that Jesus said (Aramaic) there would have been no distinction between “little rock” and “big rock.” He would just be saying “rock.” And on this “rock”, on this cephas (Peter’s name in Aramaic and a word used as his name in Jn and Gal) Christ will build his Church.

And the reason Peter’s name is translated to “petros” instead of “petra” in Greek is because “petros” is the masculine form of his name while “petra” is the feminine. Peter is male, hence “petros”

Don’t you catholics understand? Jesus has already paid the fee on the cross! We don’t earn our way to heaven. We go to heaven by your faith and not of our works! No amount of good works can save you as we are all sinful.
Rom3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
    Rom3:10 As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one;
Ep2:8.9For by grace have you been saved by faith. And that, not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works. Lest any man should boast.

Jesus probably existed, but he was not any more holy than me… The blind leading the blind, and ta da, religion…

You wouldn’t say that Jesus was no more holier than you if you knew Him. Take the time and read the gospels. They are the first 4 books of the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John). It doesn’t take long. Those are the only books that have Jesus’ birth, teachings, miracles, death, and resurrection. Also, Jesus has appeared to many people since He went up to heaven body and soul. Look at, “The Diary of St. Faustina.” for one. Many devout Christians have given up great wealth (continued – - – )

( continued from before) to follow the teachings of Christ. They lived for God and to serve their fellow man, and nothing else. They performed the same miracles Jesus did on a regular basis. He appeared to many of them. And many of their bodies are incorrupt (they never decayed) to this day. This proves (to me anyway) that Jesus told the truth when He said, “If you believe in Me, the miracles I do you will do too.” Look up Padre Pio on the web. Also,St. John Vianney of France, (continued – - )

(continued from below) and St. Don Bosco to name just a few. These men performed miracles on a daily basis and all of them have incorrupt bodies. Jesus Christ came to show us by His example how we are to live. He gives us “free will” to except Him or reject Him. I have had many miracles happen in my life by praying to Jesus. His power is real. He is alive today. Don’t reject Him before you get to know Him.

That’s your choice. You don’t have to be Catholic or be part of any religion to get to heaven. You just need Jesus. HOWEVER, Jesus started the Catholic church. Peter was the 1st pope.(Go to the vatican and see his crypt, his bible, his relics. I did) Read the writings of Polycarp and St. Ignatius of Antioch. They were disciples of Apostle John. They describe the mass and John’s teachings to be exactly like the Catholic church teaches now.Reject the Catholic church is you want. But I LOVE it!

  15. Lisa Gibbs on December 17, 2012 at 2:25 am

I know that for a fact already. I didn’t need you to tell me that.

  16. bwdlake45 on December 17, 2012 at 12:15 pm

Although we are supposed to be the hands and the feet of Christ, works wont save you. Only belief will.

  17. bwdlake45 on December 17, 2012 at 12:17 pm

You cant have Christ without his church? What about the people being saved in Africa and Asia where there isnt a church? Are you saying that they arent truly saved? They were saved by Jesus and convicted by The Holy Spirit and thats better than anything a church can do.

Hello motherfuckers, jesus is dead. The romans killed jesus and im so proud of my ancestors for doing that! AVE ROMA, ROMA VICTRIX! FUCK YOU CHRISTIANS!

Some of them were atheists, but they did not perpetrate their atrocities because of their atheism. There is nothing about atheism that necessarily leads to mass murder or genocide.

Atheism is simply the lack of belief in god.

Contrast this with the Inquisition. The atrocities perpetrated were because of a doctrine held by the church, and the thoughts/actions of those deemed to be heretical. Christianity can be blamed in this instance, while in the examples above atheism cannot.
